Just like that, Term Two has come to an end. We have two weeks until Spring Break with lots of exciting things happening around the school. On Wednesday, we wore our pink shirts to help us “lift each other up.” Students shared kinds messages around the school and classes discussed the significance of the pink shirts. Next week on Tuesday, we have our monthly Cultus Lake Community School Association meeting at 5 and our Parent Advisory Council meeting at 6. Please feel free to join us for either meeting. Have a wonderful weekend.
Daily Screening
A new K to 12 Health Check Mobile App has been developed and should be used daily to determine if students should attend school. More information can be found on our district website on the COVID page. You can look at this flow chart to see what happens if we have a person who has been in the school confirmed to have COVID-19.
PAC Meeting
Our March PAC meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 2nd at 6pm on Zoom. Please go to the following link to attend: https://sd33-ca.zoom.us/j/69202010622?pwd=VEd0bjdnd3dTNFoxMTNZVFBCcU45QT09
Please let us know if you have any questions and we hope to see you at the meeting. If you would prefer to call in rather than use the app, please contact me so I can provide you with the needed information.

CSOPA Winter Program
Lisa Braun, Director at Chilliwack School of Performing Art, is running a theatre program, on Thursdays from 2 until 3, for eight weeks, which started this week. This was for students in Grades 3 to 5 and filled up quickly. It will be canceled on February 11th, because of early dismissal and will not run during Spring Break. The last session will be on April 8th.
Inclement Weather Guidelines
Inclement Weather Guidelines for 2020/2021 can be found here.
Inclement weather conditions such as freezing rain, significant snowfall or high wind can occur during the fall and winter months. In such conditions, decisions on the opening or closure of school district facilities are made by the Superintendent of Schools in consultation with management and supervisory staff who have checked first-hand on the driving conditions, walking/sidewalk conditions, and general condition of buildings and accessibility to sites. For more details on how this is done, click here. Please listen to the local radio stations or refer to the school district’s website (www.sd33.bc.ca) for school closures.
Super Reader
Please continue to read with your child every day and fill out the Super Reader form. If you have misplaced your form, please contact your child’s classroom teacher. Thank you to the Kiwanis Club for sponsoring Super Reader!
Students Away
When your child is staying home from school, please call the school at 604-858-6266 to let us know. This ensures your child is safe and does not require a Safe Arrival phone call from Mrs. Betts.
Outdoor Play
Winter has arrived and so have cold, rainy days. Please ensure your child has proper outside clothing for the weather, as we will be going outside every day during recess and lunch breaks unless we have extreme weather.
Strong Start
Our StrongStart Site is Open for our Early Learners Ages 0-5!
