Happy New Years! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break with your family. I am sure it was a quieter holiday without travel or visits with friends. This week was challenging, trying to get our bodies back into our school routines, but we made it through the first week back. We will continue to monitor students and staff for COVID symptoms, adhere to our strict guidelines for handwashing and stay within our learning cohorts to help us stay safe while at school.
This month our Navigator focus is being respectful, especially listening to staff and following instructions. Our school goal is to collect 555 Navigators, so we can earn a movie afternoon on January 29th. I will bring the students a special treat to enjoy if we can reach our goal.
At this time, the Chilliwack School District is still following the checklist provided to us by BC Centre for Disease Control. This link is also found on our district website on the COVID page. This may change in the future, but for now, we are airing on the cautious side. You can look at this flow chart to see what happens if we have a person who has been in the school confirmed to have COVID-19.
Our January PAC meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 12th at 6pm on Zoom. Please go to the following link to attend: https://sd33-ca.zoom.us/j/67293027379?pwd=OSsvY2pyRnVCR0JvS0NoUWtaK2Fadz09. Please let us know if you have any questions and we hope to see you at the meeting.

Pink Shirt Day
On February 24th, our school will be participating in Pink Shirt day. We have selected a design and will be giving parents an opportunity to order one of the shirts from the school. They will be $10 for a t-shirt and $25 for a Hoody. Order forms will be going home early next week and will be due back to the office by January 20th.
Please continue to read with your child every day and fill out the Super Reader form. If you have misplaced your form, please contact your child’s classroom teacher. Thank you to the Kiwanis Club for sponsoring Super Reader!
When your child is staying home from school, please call the school at 604-858-6266 to let us know. This ensures your child is safe and does not require a Safe Arrival phone call from Mrs. Betts.
Winter has arrived and so have cold, rainy days. Please ensure your child has proper outside clothing for the weather, as we will be going outside every day during recess and lunch breaks unless we have extreme weather.
Our StrongStart Site is Open for our Early Learners Ages 0-5!
Please go to https://sd33.bc.ca/strong-start for more detailed information on how to register and sign up for sessions. If you have any questions please contact Anila Gehman, our Strong Start Facilitator.
